Bemerkung:   Das Künstlerbuch "Oh, the Grand old Duke of York" von Gilbert & George wurde vom Kunstmuseum Luzern anlässlich der Ausstellung "The Paintings" (With Us in the Nature)" (20.05.-25.06.1972) herausgegeben. Das Buch beginnt mit Werbeanzeigen, einem Vorwort von Jean-Christophe Ammann und dem Impressum. Dem Impressum folgt ein umfangreicher Bildteil, der pro Doppelseite ein Bild zeigt. Die Abbildungen sind wie ein Abblätterbuch angeordnet und zeigen das Künstlerduo beim Hinabsteigen einer Treppe. Unter jeder Abbildung stehen die Worte "No UP, no DOWN". Nach dem Bildteil folgt ein ausführlicher Text von Barbara M. Reise zum Werk der Künstler. Der Andruck zu dem Künstlerbuch befindet sich auch im Archiv (JCA1GILB088). In der MMK-Bibliothek befindet sich ein weiteres Exemplar des Buches (02/1517). // The artists' book "Oh, the Grand old Duke of York" by Gilbert & George was published by the Kunstmuseum Luzern on the occasion of the exhibition ""The Paintings" (with Us in the Nature)" (20 May to 25 June 1972). The book begins with advertisements, a foreword by Jean-Christophe Ammann and the copyright page. Then follows an extensive illustration section with one illustration on each page. The photographs form a flip-book showing the artist duo descending a staircase. The words "No UP, no DOWN" are printed below each image. The illustration section is followed by a detailed text by Barbara M. Reise about the artists' work. The proof of the artists' book is also in the archive (JCA1GILB088). There is a second copy of the book in the library of the MMK (02/1517).
