Bemerkung: Eccles suggests for Ito and him to work on biophysical investigations on motoneurones as well as on the effect of passing ions into cells and the consequential changes in the IPSP, EPSP and after hyperpolarization when he arrives for his scholarship for his Ph.D. degree. Eccles backs Ito up in his application for a Rockefeller Fellowship and offers him a scholarship in Canberra after it gets declined. After his daughters death1958, Ito postpones his departure for Australia to 1959. Eccles suggsests they should work on investigations on motoneurones as well as on the effect of passing ions into cells and the consequential changes in the IPSP, EPSP and after hyperpolarization. Ito gets a scholarship by the Australian National University for two years, after unsuccessfully applying for a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship to go to America.
