Bemerkung:   Die handschriftlichen Notizen von Jean-Christophe Ammann wurden auf eine Einladungskarte notiert, die zu einer Eröffnung am 13.10.1970 von Gianni Piacentino in der Onnasch Galerie einlädt. JCA notierte alle Bildunterschriften der fünfteiligen Arbeit "The Nature of our Looking" von Gilbert & George. Eine der Bildunterschriften zitiert den viktorianischen Dichter Norman Gale. Der Zyklus thematisiert den romantisierenden Blick auf die Natur als ländliche Idylle. Da der Zyklus 1970 in der Kölner Galerie von Heiner Friedrich ausgestellt wurde, liegt die Vermutung nahe, dass Ammann die Notizen vor Ort während eines Besuches angefertigt hat. Die Karte der Galerie Onnasch lag eventuell in der Galerie aus und wurde von JCA als Notizzettel verwendet. Die Einladungskarte zur Gilbert & George-Ausstellung in der Galerie Heiner Friedrich befindet sich auch im Archiv (JCA1GILB020). // Jean-Christophe Ammann made handwritten notes on an invitation announcing the opening of a Gianni Piacentino exhibition at the Onnasch Gallery on 13 October 1970. JCA noted all captions of the five-part work "The Nature of our Looking" by Gilbert & George. One of the captions cites the Victorian poet Norman Gale. The cycle is about the romanticist view of nature as a rural idyll. Since the cycle was presented by Heiner Friedrich at his Cologne gallery in 1970, it seems reasonable to assume that Ammann made the notes on site during a visit. The invitation to the Gilbert & George exhibition at the Galerie Heiner Friedrich is also in the archive (JCA1GILB020).
