Menze, Hillis [Verfasser], Wolfskehl, Karl (1869-1948) [Adressat]
Frankenfeld (Gernsheim), 1920-1921 [ca.]. - 6 letters, Deutsch. - Brief
Inhaltsangabe: Files 55-60 contain letters sent by Hillis Menze (signed as "Greifhillgreif") to Karl Wolfskehl (addressed as "Greif"). Several letters seem to be incomplete. The letters of files 55-57 were primarily written from the agricultural settlement of Frankenfeld (Gernsheim) in Hesse, a "Lebensreform" project of young people who focused - besides working the farm -, on body culture (dance and gymnastics), art, literature and social work. They are almost entirely undated but must have been written in the period between approximately 1920 to fall 1921 when the agricultural settlement in Frankenfeld was dissolved. File 57 contains letters that are most likely sent from Frankenfeld. They pertain to agricultural work and social life; the plan to move to Italy where other women from Frankenfeld have already settled ; Karl Wofskehl's intended visitBemerkung: See also correspondence with other members of the Frankenfeld settlement from the Karl Wolfskehl Papers: Marie Buchhold (file 48); Emilie Herrmann (File 61 and 62); Katrin Warnshold (file 53); letters to Hillis Menze (files 70 and 75).
