Inhaltsangabe:   Subseries 2 (file 06-25) consists of letters taken from books in K. Wolfskehl's library. They are ordered alphabetically. Many of the letters show a connection to the volume they were taken from, e.g. were sent by the authors or by the publishers or deal with the author or the subject of the book. Many times, the author of the letter asks Wolfskehl for a review of or comment on his/her work or thanks for an already given remark by him. Several letters (however sometimes just in passing) give an impression of Karl Wolfskehl as a book collector, in particular his interest in old books: several correspondences are with book sellers and publishers, some letters pertain to book sales and auctions, the provenance / value of books, bibliophilic matters, the offer of rare books and occasionally contain bibliographical matters. Also editing and printing matters are occasionally referred to.   The letters also provide some insight into the German literary scene particularly in Munich but also beyond in the first decades of the 20th century. Especially Stefan George and his circle are referred to on a regular basis.   Several letters written between 1914 and 1918 discuss matters of World War I, those from the 1920s are occasionally pertaining to Italy (since Wolfskehl himself lived in Florence around this time).   Some letters have poems attached or in some cases newspaper clippings.

Bemerkung:   Some correspondents that appear in this series are identical with those in series III, subseries 1 (especially file 48-54).
